Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Liu, MD, FACS is a fellowship trained head and neck cancer surgeon in the Lehigh Valley with Specialty Physician Associates. He has decades of experience treating cancers of the head and neck, including throat, mouth, skin, saliva gland, and thyroid cancers. He sees patients in Bethlehem PA and Upper Bucks (Quakertown) PA. Dr. Liu was born in the New York. After living in the New England area into elementary school, he moved overseas to Asia for the next ten years. He returned the United States for college at Brown University, where he completed a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry with Honors. He then attended Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City where he graduated with MD with Honors in Research. For postgraduate training, he completed his internship in General Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University Campus, and then his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia and Cornell University campuses. After completion of his residency, he underwent Fellowship Training in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His time there included an additional year and a half of specialized laboratory research training sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. After completing his training, he moved to Philadelphia PA to join the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University as Faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology -Head and Neck surgery. In this role, he cared for head and neck cancer patients at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University Hospital. In his over a decade of service he has treated hundreds of cancer patients from Philadelphia, Eastern PA, and surrounding states of New Jersey and Delaware. Dr. Liu has a national reputation as a national leader. He has held numerous leadership positions at the national level including Chair of the Young Physicians Section of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Chair of the Basic Science and Translational Committee of the American Head and Neck Society. He has an extensive research background with over 60 published manuscripts and over 50 presented national abstracts. Dr. Liu joined Specialty Physician Associates with a focus on treating Head and Neck cancer and related diseases. Most of the care delivered is in partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network, where he serves as co-director of the Head and Neck cancer program. He is available to see new patients.
